We celebrated all of the wonderful things that we can do together!
Year 4 had a great time at the China Town in Liverpool.
We led the Kirkby Spring Art Exhibition in the Kirkby Library.
The School Council and the whole School Community worked together to achieve the Healthy School Award.
Parents and children love to learn together- great job
Nursery loved their Pirate Day- ship ahoy !
The school was successfully awarded the Arts Mark Award.
The Eco team were successfully awarded the Green Flag Status.
Our children celebrated their Sacraments of Confirmation and Eucharist during our “Day of Many Colours.”
The football team were crowned Treble Winners- Kirkby League/Walter Tomlinson Cup and Debbie Mottram-Foster Cup.
We enjoyed learning about the wonders of Science.
The sun shone on Sports Day !
What a day we had eating ice-cream in the pouring waiting for Sir Bradley Wiggins to whizz by !
The Union of Catholic Mother’s were delighted to take their Banner (made by the Art Club) to the Cathedral.
We learned how to stay safe at home and at school.
We learned how to save energy !
The School Council were proud to meet the Archbishop.
We were proud to remember WWI with our Human Poppy.
Parents and pupils enjoyed learning about healthy food together.
The P.T.A. ran a special event for Mother’s Day- it was fab!
Congratulations to Holly A who was runner up in the Liverpool based dot-art schools competition.
We are so proud of your piece of art work and who would have guessed that it would be hanging in the Walker Art Gallery in Liverpool.
Mitchell and Rhys were SMAAA runners up.

Jeremy Strong Author Visit
The children produced art work based on the Creation Story. That art work will be used to create some large mosaics.
We have all had visitors from the parish in our classes this term. Go to the RE curriculum section for more information.Mrs Murphy told us all about the Union Of Catholic Mothers.
Fair Trade fortnight- we enjoyed the tasty cakes that the children made and the School Council visited Gateacre High school to learn all about Fair trade bananas.
We have had lots of curriculum enrichment too !
The gardening club have been busy planting and getting ready for Spring.
We collected unwanted clothes for Phill the Bag and the money will be spent by the Eco Team.
What a fantastic week we had trying to save Dr Who form peril.
We were all amazed when the EMPs (Emergency Mission Pods) landed on our playground.
The children and staff completed their mission and were stunned when Dr Who arrived at school on Friday.
All classes had great fun when the Junior Chef came to school.
We also love learning about history such as World War II and the great Fire of London in 1666.
Sir Bradley Wiggins whizzed past our year 6 children as they waited patiently in the rain today. Well done Sir Bradley and well done children for your behaviour and patience in the awful weather.

Writer of the Week!
When Steve Cole visited our school he inspired us to be author.
Nursery- Traditional Tales Reception- What the Ladybird heard Year 1- Our class author focus is Julia Donaldson. We love her books, especially the Stick Man and the Troll Year 2- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory/ The Magic Finger Roald Dahl Year 3- Dick King Smith Year 4- Our author focus is Roald Dahlalthough we read lots of other authors throughout the year too. Year 5- Anne Fine Year 6- Spy Stories Anthony Horowitz
Year 5 are taking part in Fire Fit activites every week. They love it and are really improving their levels of fitness. Miss Killeen will be inviting parents in to see if they can finish a session with their child on Friday 22nd March !
Congratulations to the children of Year 5 who attended the Liverpool Fire Fit Day this week- June 2013. You were the only Knowsley school and you stood out as examples of good behaviour and sportsman ship.
All Saints Catholic High School
Year 5 are taking part in Business and Enterprise activituies in the High school each week.
Year 6 had lots of fun building dens at Chirk Castle.
