Welcome back! We hope you are looking forward to Year 4 as much as we are.

On this page you will find up to date information about current topics, information about our learning and key dates for your diary.

Important information!

If you would like your child to make their First Holy Communion, then you need to visit your parish church THIS WEEKEND 16TH OR 17TH SEPTEMBER to make sure child`s name is down on their list!

If you fail to do this, then your child will not be able to make their First Holy Communion this time.

Here are the range of topics we will be learning:

LITERACY- 

Focus: Narrative verse

READING-

Author – Louis Sachar- Class Reader – Holes

MATHS-

Focus

-Place value

-Addition and Subtraction methods

-Children should still be practising their 2,3,4,5,8 and 10 times tables.

We will now need to learn our 6 and 7 times tables.

COME AND SEE-

Focus:Awe and Wonder,  Domestic Church: People,

Other faith: Judaism

SCIENCE-

Focus-Animals including humans and Teeth

We will learn about the digestive system and its functions.

TOPIC-

Focus: History-Anglo Saxons

ART-

COMPUTING-

Focus: Back to the future

FRENCH-

ATTENDANCE-

It is important that your child attends school

regularly.

HOMEWORK

Homework will be given out on FRIDAY and should be returned by WEDNESDAY to celebrate our good work!

P.E KIT

Please make sure children have the correct P.E kits– NO TRAINERS– children need to wear pumps.

GENERAL

Snack: your child has the opportunity to buy a healthy snack during morning break– fruit, water, cheese.

Trips: We will inform you in advance if we are going on a trip.
